Care & maintenance

General advice
Most vintage items have natural teak or rosewood veneer as the main material. Try to keep hot items and moisture away from the surface! If something is spilled on the piece, wipe it up as quickly as you can. Don’t place any planting pots on top of the surface, that could leave water rings. Use coasters and serving pates whenever it is possible.
Lacquer & Varnish finishes
90% of items have original varnish or lacquer finish. For maintenance simply clean it with clean water and cloth. If your item starts to fade and loose its shine, we can also recommend OZ polish for polishing. If your item gets scratched or damaged we recommend to contact us.
Oil finishes
If your item has been refinished, it is mostly done with oil. For maintenance, apply a new coat of oil every 6 months. If your item gets scratches or damage on surface, you can first try to apply oil to fix it. We use Rustins oil brand for our finishes.
Important! Before you do anything, please make sure what finish has been used on your item. Applying oil to lacquered finished may damage your piece. If you are not sure, feel free to contact us.
